About Me

Kayla is a young professional artist specializing in fine art, illustration, and graphic design. She is currently a student attending Kennesaw State University pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Digital Animation (Expected graduation May 2024). Kayla has been creating art for as long as she can remember, however, she began taking her craft seriously at age 11. Drawing inspiration from animated media and cartoons, she discovered her passion for art and dream of working in the animation industry. Kayla enjoys exploring many different art media and has experience working with acrylic paint, oil paint, digital art, 3D modeling, sculpture, ink, graphite, and charcoal. As for digital media, she is proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, Procreate, Autodesk Maya, Toonboom Harmony, and Canva. Kayla's work has been featured and displayed in art galleries and exhibitions including the High Museum of Art in Atlanta, GA, the Bernard A. Zuckerman Museum of Art at Kennesaw State University, and the Suwanee Arts Center in Suwanee, GA. Kayla also sells her work to the public in her community at several art shows and festivals as well as online through her Instagram page (@cartoon_brownies) and her Etsy store (Cartoon Brownies). She has created her own unique cartoon style and brand image that is fun, bright, and expressive. Furthermore, her painting style is a mixture of contemporary, Afrocentric, and pop art. Kayla's artwork is inspired by her observation of real-life subjects and using abstract elements to express her own indirect or implied meaning. Currently, Kayla serves as a graphic designer on the Region Technology Committee for the South Atlantic Region of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, and is actively seeking a job or internship in the field of animation.
